Who We Are

Sarothi is an institution that takes care of physically and mentally challenged children/ people of the society who are generally disregarded and deprived of the social esteem they deserve. As of now, sarothi is nurturing a group of differently abled children . A motivated & resourceful team (RCI & National Trust recognised personnels) of five teachers endeavor to ensure their all-round development.


As full citizens, physically & mentally challengedpeople are entitled to equal rights. In their daily lives, they continuously battle exclusion & restriction to their full participation in the society, facing discrimination, abuse & poverty. Physically challenged people are entitled to equal access to education & employment, equal rights to parenthood, property ownership, political rights and legal representation.

Our vision

To enable the mentally/physically challenged persons to stand on their on feet. To facilitate the realisation of equal opportunities, protection of rights and full participation of physically challenged persons. To create an environment to make them feel that they are also a part of the family and society. To form a parents' group so that they can fight for the rights of their wards.


Society for Human Development, Nalbari is a non-goverment organization (NGO). The organization is working for all around development of society . Over the years the society has involved to provide all around development of Differently Abled persons and socially deprived persons. The Society for Human Development, Nalbari aims at bringing about all-round development of differently abled and general person. Over the years/Since inception ,the Society has conducted activities of various nature with the objective and achieving the goals of the society. The organization was established in 2007 by a group of local people who were keen to work for the society. SAROTHI reaches out to children with special needs by providing day-care and home support. Sarothi is also taking the initiative to form a parents group of Children with Special Needs (CWSN) in Nalbari district of Assam.In Nalbari district there are reportedly about 5500 children with special needs (CWSN) in the age group of 6 to 14 years, and about 1500 children are in the category of hearing impaired out of total CWSN. The day care center at SAROTHI provides support to hearing impaired children along with other CWSN.
